Stud reads the plan you received (a DXF or PDF plan, a plan image or a sketch), builds the building in 3D and gives you the quantities to price the job. You check the model on screen, you set the price. When you win, the same model becomes panels and framing.
What do you give Stud?
The plan as you received it, and a short brief in your own words. Everything goes through the chat: DXF plans, PDF plans, plan images, sketches and notes.

What quantities do you get?
The quantities come straight from the 3D model, per level and in total. Because they come from a model you can see, you can check where each number comes from before you send a quote.

- Areas and volumes of the building
- Material weights and counts: steel, timber, concrete blocks
- The m² of each wall layer, once the wall types are set
How does a take-off with Stud go?
- Drop the plan into the chat and say what you need.
- The agent reads the plan, finds the levels, walls and openings, and builds the building in 3D. If a dimension is missing, it asks. It never guesses.
- You check the model on screen and point at anything to change: click a wall, write the change.
- You read the quantities on screen, and export them to Excel, CSV or PDF with the Take-off plan.
- When you win the job, ask for the panels and the framing: no redrawing.
What Stud does not do
Stud gives quantities, not prices: your rates stay yours, and you set the price. It does not run structural calculations or check building codes. Those stay with your engineer.
Questions
Do I need CAD software to use Stud?
No. Stud runs in the browser. You drop in the plan and write what you need; the agent does the modelling and you review it.
Can I export the take-off?
Yes, with the Take-off plan: Excel, CSV and PDF, per level and in total. The free beta shows the quantities on screen.
Does Stud price the job for me?
No. Stud gives quantities. Pricing stays your job, with your own rates.
